65th FEIBP Congress in Ischia: Discover the Aragonese Castle – A Fortress of Federation and Resilience

Dear Colleagues,

As we look ahead to the 65th FEIBP Congress in Ischia (October 8–11, 2025), we are excited to kick off the experience with a special journey into the heart of the island — the iconic Aragonese Castle.

Explore Ischia’s Historic Landmark

On October 10th, all registered participants are invited to explore this stunning medieval fortress. Perched on a rocky islet and connected to Ischia by a stone causeway, Aragonese Castle has stood for centuries as a symbol of protection, unity, and endurance.

A highlight of the visit is the legendary story of Queen Giovanna I of Naples, who sought refuge within the castle walls in the 14th century. The fortress has since witnessed countless royal alliances, invasions, and transformations — much like the evolution of federations throughout Europe.

Theme of the 2025 Congress: “No Federation Is an Island”

This year’s Congress theme highlights the importance of federations as collaborative, resilient networks. Following recent themes such as individual leadership (Ireland, 2023) and corporate ecosystems (Ibiza, 2024), we now turn to the structure and identity of federations, and how they serve as vital bridges between people, organisations, and nations.

The Aragonese Castle serves as a powerful metaphor — a place where shared history, strategic alliances, and resilience come together. It offers the perfect setting to reflect on how federations unite us in times of change.

What to Expect on October 10:

  • A guided tour of the Aragonese Castle, including its architecture, legends, and history

  • Opportunities for reflection on the role of federations in building strong, connected communities

  • Shuttle bus transport from the Congress hotel to the Castle and back
